Barack Obama’s 2024 summer reading list is here – how many books have you read?

If you’re a book lover and are constantly on the lookout for the next great read based on recommendations, your wish has come true. Former President Barack Obama just revealed his favorite books of the past few months, giving you some new inspiration for your reading list.

On the social media platform X, Barack Obama shared his reading list for summer 2024.

The new list includes 14 novels and non-fiction books.

His book list includes fiction such as Headshot by Rita Bullwinkel, which tells the story of eight teenage girls who take part in a boxing match in Reno, Nevada, and Job offers by Adelle Waldman, about low-wage workers at an upstate New York supermarket who endure tough shifts while dreaming of better opportunities.

It also contains non-fiction books such as Everyone who left here: The United States, Central America, and the emergence of a crisis by Jonathan Blitzer, who examines the flawed policies and corruption causing the migration crisis at the US-Mexico border, and Of boys and men: Why the modern man has problems, why it is important and what can be done about it by Richard Reeves, which explores the future of masculinity in a more just world.

Obama’s reading list for 2016 included a book by Indian Pulitzer Prize winner Jhumpa Lahiri – her second novel, The lowlands.

The book explores the lives of two brothers in Calcutta against the backdrop of the Naxalite movement. This book was nominated for the Man Booker Prize 2013 and, alongside The lights by Eleanor Catton.
