Steph Curry made the most of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
The Warriors superstar left Team USA with a gold medal, countless new friends and pins, and every McDonald’s restaurant in France wondering if they should still sell the “Classic Curry” sauce based on his dominant shooting performance.
Here are six incredible Curry stats from what is likely his first and only Olympic appearance:
3-point history for gold
The 10-time NBA All-Star is a bucket.
Curry made 8 of 13 three-point shots in the U.S. national team’s thrilling 98-87 victory over the French national team on Saturday at the Bercy Arena in Paris.

Before Curry, no player in Olympic history had come close to his three-point shooting ability in a gold medal game.
The best shooter in basketball history breaks a 3-point record?
It could just as well have been a day ending in “g.”
Family matters
Curry had a relatively slow start to the Summer Games.
But he was there when his loved ones were there.

Curry averaged 7.2 points in the United States’ first four Olympic Games. In 15 seasons with Golden State, he averaged 24.8 points per game.
Curry’s average of under eight points per game before the semifinal between the USA and Serbia was low, even with the NBA version of the Avengers as teammates.
But when the Curry clan reached Paris, it was over.
Slow start? No problem
The bad start couldn’t shake Curry’s confidence.

Although the superstar struggled to score goals at the beginning, he finished the tournament as his country’s top points scorer in points per game.
It’s probably not easy to keep throwing the ball when you’re cold and your teammates are LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and other future Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame inductees.
But “Chef” Curry persisted and finally managed to end the tournament with an incredible two-game winning streak.
Analyzing the numbers
Curry’s statistics from the US team’s last two victories are real, but appear to be made up.

The 36-year-old sank a total of 17 of 26 three-point shots (65.4 percent) against Serbia and France.
Curry scored 31 percent of the US team’s 193 points in the last two games
The clutch gene
Curry is often criticized for no longer being a top player at the end of hard-fought games.
Is there any truth in this statement? No.

Curry was not only the best player on the field against Serbia and France, he was also the most reliable towards the end of the games.
His dominance did not diminish even as he spent more time on the pitch and his possession of the ball became more important.
Instead, Curry played better, making one absurd shot after another.
Without Curry’s decisive throw, the Americans might have left Paris without gold medals.
The greatest who ever did it
Curry averaged 30 points for Team USA in the tournament’s semifinals and gold medal games.
This is the highest average of any player in Olympic history.

Not Durant – the US national team’s all-time leading scorer – or any other basketball star.
Steph. Curry.
Year after year, Curry adds to his NBA legacy with different performances, moments and legendary celebrations and quotes.
But in the summer of 1924, Curry cemented his status as an international basketball legend.
And he showed the world how to shoot the stone.
