KANSAS CITY, Missouri. – Texas A&M’s Leah Pirro was one of 16 players named to the United Soccer Coaches Midfielders to Watch preseason list, compiled by the organization’s Division I All-America Committee.

Pirro transferred to Texas A&M in the offseason after spending two years at Grand Canyon. For her performance last season, she was named to the All-Pacific Region Second Team and All-WAC First Team by United Soccer Coaches. She ranked ninth in the nation with 13 assists and scored two goals in 23 games, helping the Lopes to a 14-5-4 record, the WAC tournament title and a berth in the NCAA championship.

In 2022, Pirro played 20 games at GCU, starting 19 of them. She scored 13 points with four goals and five assists and was named to the All-WAC Second Team.

Pirro began her college career in San Diego and earned honorable mention All-West Coast Conference honors for the Toreros during the extended 2020-21 Covid season.

The Simi Valley, California native, who did not play in 2021, comes to Aggieland with two years of eligibility. Pirro has made 51 collegiate appearances with 49 starts in her three seasons. She has 30 career points with six goals and 18 assists.

The Aggies travel to SMU for an exhibition match on Thursday at 7 p.m. The Maroon & White open the regular season on Thursday, August 15th at Lamar and host Denver in the season opener on Wednesday, August 21st.
