Nacon has postponed Terminator: Survivors to 2025.
The open-world survival game was originally scheduled to launch on Steam Early Access on October 24, but developer Nacon announced on Twitter that it still needs more time. The studio did not give a specific reason for the delay, but said it will use the extra development time to realize its vision for the project and ensure that Terminator: Survivors meets fans’ expectations.
“We have been truly impressed by your enthusiasm and amazed by the response to our announcements over the past few months, and we know how eagerly fans are waiting for Terminator: Survivors,” said Nacon. “To realize our vision and ensure we deliver the game that meets your expectations, we need a little more time. Therefore, we will postpone the launch to 2025.”

“We know this will be a disappointment to many, but we want to do the right thing by this universe, its fans and our community. In the long run, we believe this is the right decision.”
Terminator: Survivors will also be coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S at some point, but that depends on how long Early Access lasts. The console version was originally supposed to be released in 2025, but since the Steam Early Access version could now be released sometime between January and December next year, there’s no telling how long it will take until it’s ready for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Set in 2009, just a few years after Judgement Day, Terminator: Survivors moves chronologically within the events of the first two films, but tells its own story that includes both familiar characters from the series and entirely new faces. We haven’t seen any real gameplay in the only trailer released, but we do know that it’s an open-world survival game with base building and threats ranging from the Terminator himself to other enemy machines and humans. The entire game can be played solo, but there’s also the option to play with up to four players in co-op mode.
Oh, and did I mention Terminator: Survivors has its own Resident Evil-style Mr. X, “a relentless and formidable hunter who is unstoppable”?
