Former “Real Housewives of New York” Kelly Bensimon shocked everyone when she abruptly called off her wedding in June. Kelly called off the ceremony just four days before she was set to walk down the aisle with Scott Litner. The reason wasn’t a last-minute cheating scandal or a shortage of jelly beans. It was Scott’s refusal to sign the contract that was the deal-breaker for Kelly. And now this real estate agent is celebrating being single.
Kelly Bensimon is having “fun” and looking forward to her “next chapter”
That’s right. When Scott refused to sign the prenuptial agreement, the single mother called off her wedding. I think it’s good that she’s protecting her assets and thinking about her future. Kelly explained that she would never get married without a prenuptial agreement. “I’m not going to let my girls do it and I’m not going to do it,” the Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip star explained. After ending the relationship, Kelly moved back into the Manhattan police building.
And now Kelly is swimming around in the dating pool. Kelly told Page Six, “I’m not in a relationship,” but “I’m… happy to explore new opportunities.” Why not? She’s free and ready to embrace being single. In fact, Kelly said she’s “having fun dating.” She continued, “I’m enjoying it. I’m not chasing.” And Kelly is also hopeful about what the future holds. “I can’t wait for my next chapter. I’m not in a committed relationship,” she added.
Kelly also now knows that she needs to bring up the topic of a prenuptial agreement early on in a new relationship so that there are no nasty surprises just before the wedding day.
