The 2024 offseason is probably the best basketball fans have seen in a long time. Not only was boredom averted due to the lack of NBA action, but the 2024 Paris Olympics made dreams come true thanks to the Avengers featuring LeBron James, Steph Curry, and Kevin Durant. The NBA’s Big 3 teamed up to lead Team USA to a fifth consecutive gold medal, but this was the end of the short-lived union. LeBron and Steph have already made their decision that this will be their last Olympics public, while KD kept things under wraps. But what if they got together in the NBA? As unbelievable as it may sound, judging by the chemistry we’ve witnessed between them, there’s a chance it could happen.

This was one of the topics of conversation in the last episode of First attempt. Kendrick Perkins speculated about the likelihood of the trio joining forces at the NBA stadium. “You know, what I saw this summer with the Olympic team is how the guys build relationships. And what happened there in Paris was the guys ate together and talked. And I tell you, the next NBA season is going to be interesting.” said Perkins.

“Because if things don’t go as planned with the Los Angeles Lakers, things don’t go as planned with the Golden State Warriors, or things don’t go as planned with the Phoenix Suns, they’re all in the same conference. I look at that and say to myself, after this NBA season, maybe we’ll see some things, some moving parts.” This led to numerous theories at Perks, one of which was that Kevin Durant ditched Devin Booker for another Team USA teammate.

“It would not surprise me if we had a Reunion with Steph Curry and KD or LeBron James and Steph actually make it possible. Or we see Kevin Durant go to Minnesota with Anthony Edwards because we saw it, they had a typical handshake,” Perkins added: “And that’s how these relationships form, man. And you know, at the end of the day, I want to watch this season here and see how things play out, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we see.”
