“I was on a bumpy road”

“I was on a bumpy road”

Post Malone’s upcoming country album, F-1 billioncontains a song called “Yours,” which he wrote as a tribute to his two-year-old daughter.

Written from the perspective of imagining their future wedding, the song is a tender message of fatherly love – but that’s just the beginning of Post’s thoughts on the life-changing experience of becoming a father.

In a new episode of CBS Sunday MorningThe singer says his daughter saved his life.

“That’s true. Her and her mother. Four years ago, I was on a difficult path,” Post says, saying the demons he was battling came from “loneliness” despite already being a major music star.

“Get up, have a good cry, drink and then go and live your life,” he continues, describing what his daily routine was like at the time. “And then, whenever you lie down, have another drink and have a good cry. And (think): ‘Tomorrow I have to wake up and do this again.'”

But that changed when his partner and daughter came into play.

“I don’t feel that way anymore and that’s the most amazing thing,” Post says, adding that he “had to experience” this hardship “to find out who I am.”

The singer’s family has remained private and he has not revealed his daughter’s name or exact date of birth, although he has her initials – “DDP” – tattooed on his forehead.

He also tells CBS Sunday Morning that “Yours” is just one of the many songs he wrote for his daughter. The theme of the song – the idea of her getting married one day – is something that often runs through his mind.

“I think about it a lot,” says Post.

F-1 billion is set to be released on Friday (August 16). The project includes a series of country collaborations with stars such as Luke Combs, Dolly Parton, Morgan Wallen, Brad Paisley and more.
