Epic announces new Fortnite map that will include several Marvel-themed POIs

The new Fortnite The season is moving full steam ahead toward its Marvel-themed release this weekend—and Epic Games is giving a sneak peek at what’s to come.

In a new post on Twitter/X, Epic today released a top view of Fortnite Chapter Five, the Season Four map, is obscured by a sort of green mist that covers the northernmost and southwesternmost areas of the island where players have been fighting since last December.

According to leakers, the mystery behind the green mist has already been solved. The two northern POIs, Lavish Lair and Classy Courts, will reportedly be replaced by a Dr. Doom-themed area, such as Doom’s castle or his homeland of Latveria.

The southwestern POI Pleasant Piazza, meanwhile, will be replaced by the Raft, which could be a big hint at some fun events to come this season. The Raft is a giant floating prison in the Marvel Universe and is constantly filled with the biggest and baddest villains.

The new season was finally revealed at Disney’s D23 showcase last weekend. It’s called Absolute Doom and features Dr. Doom and several Marvel heroes and villains like Gwenpool, War Machine, Mysterio, and more. There are also a number of mythical Marvel items like Iron Man’s gauntlets, Dr. Doom’s powers, and others, so the whole season is sure to be filled with plenty of Marvel goodness.

Could Dr. Doom’s plan be to cause an outbreak on the Raft and fill the island with all sorts of Marvel villains? Fortniteand other collaborations? And will this result in the arrival of the previously data-mined Fantastic Four, who have not yet appeared in any promotional material for the new season?

The Fortnite The gamer in me is almost as excited as the Marvel fan and is looking forward to these two worlds colliding once again when the new season begins this Friday, August 16th.
