Kanye West reportedly plays tracks by Diddy and R. Kelly one after the other during his DJ set

Kanye West reportedly played songs by Diddy and R. Kelly back to back during a DJ set that also featured producer Mike Hector. Hector posted updates from the event on social media over the weekend. In a post on X (formerly Twitter) shared by HipHopDXhe wrote: “I’m at this party and Kanye is DJing. He played two Diddy songs and then right after that an Ar Kelly song. This n***a don’t give a fuck.” He also apparently played songs by Prince, Eurythmics, The Eagles, JAY-Z and others.

West previously referred to R. Kelly and Diddy in his Vulture 1 Single “Carnival”. He rapped: “Anyone mad, gotta let the urine drink / Now I’m Ye-Kelly, bitch, now I’m Bill Cosby, bitch / Now I’m rich like Puff Daddy, that’s #MeToo, I’m rich.”

West has supported the art of controversial artists countless times in recent years. Back in 2019, he spoke about the separation of art and artist during a Sunday service. “Everyone wants the art from the artist, but when they do something unpredictable, they just get complete documentaries on them. And then they come with the Michael (Jackson) documentary,” he said at the time. “We can enjoy their music as much as we want. I thought I wasn’t going to go there today, but uh… If we’re going to destroy artists, let’s get (Leonardo) da Vinci out of the Louvre while we’re at it. Let’s remove all the art.”
