3 Olympians we’d love to see with Devin Booker in Phoenix

Just let Guerschon Yabusele have his moment, OK? In the gold medal game, he was France’s engine and continued to do everything he could to keep his country in the game. He put LeBron on a poster, he made a 3-pointer like a scoop, and he threw himself at both baskets with reckless abandon.

In other words, he was exactly what Booker needed to have around him during the regular season, especially on defense. Yabusele already had his chance in the NBA – but based on this game alone, he could soon leave Real Madrid and return to the United States.

Yabusele had a few possessions where he tried to defend Joel Embiid, and it was great to see him never back down from a ridiculous challenge thrown at him. Perhaps best of all, compared to a dream scenario like Haliburton, this actually has a realistic chance of happening.

At just 28 years old, you can imagine him strengthening the front line alongside Booker and also Durant. With the point guard issues now resolved, Yabusele could do a little of everything from the bench while also saving Booker’s legs on defense. When the playoffs rolled around and he was reduced to just 12 minutes per game as a wrecking ball? Watch out, league.
