In April, we reported that the actress, who played Padma Patil in the hit Harry Potter films based on the books by JK Rowling, was congratulated by her fellow actors when she announced her second pregnancy.

Now Afshan has documented the little one’s arrival with a snapshot showing her lying in her crib.

The baby, whose name has not yet been announced, was seen sleeping in a white lemon-print romper.

They wore matching hats and posed next to signs reading “Hello World” and “I’m Here.”

In her detailed caption, the Manchester-born film star, who is also father to daughter Kyra, wrote: “By the grace of God, our perfect little girl was born on 8/8, completing our little family. Sub’han’Allah

“I feel so blessed to give my Kyra a little sister and best friend for life – something I could only dream of. (Kyra looks like such a big girl now.) It was clearly my destiny to be the mother of a girl forever.

I will take some well-deserved time off to rest and recover and, as a MOM OF TWO, enjoy the delicacies of each newborn with my family.

“Thank you for all the good wishes and love.”

One follower quickly wrote: “Congratulations darling.”

Another wrote of her eldest: “She will be the best big sister.”

A third simply said: “Darling.”

One fan then posted: “Congratulations beautiful!!

“May you always remain blessed.”

Afshan, who played Ravenclaw student Padma in five wizarding films, announced her first pregnancy in April 2021.

Afshan is married to her husband Nabil Kazi and now works as a beauty influencer.

The couple married in an extravagant ceremony in 2018.

She got the role of Padma, whose twin sister was Parvati, when casting agents visited her school and auditioned her “just for fun.”

She had previously told Deccan Chronicle about the longevity of the Harry Potter franchise and the appreciation for her role.

She said, “It is a great honour for people to still appreciate and recognise me as Padma.

“Being part of something so magical and successful has been the greatest blessing of my life.

“Harry Potter fans are the best fans. They are so loyal and always support everything we do.”

Although Afshan is currently taking a break from acting, she starred in the CBBC show Marrying Mum & Dad.

Although she landed a huge role in a Hollywood film, she previously stated that this was no guarantee of success for the rest of her career.

She told the same publication: “After filming ‘Potter’, auditioning was not easy for me as a Muslim Asian girl.

“Roles weren’t always available and it was disheartening to see how Asians were devalued in the media.

“It was also one of the reasons why I retired from acting.

“However, I am currently observing a huge increase in Asians in the media. I just hope it stays that way.”
