Weather in Dallas: Hottest day this year

Thursday will be a brutally hot day in North Texas – likely the hottest day of the year so far.

While Wednesday was also the hottest day of the year so far with 103 degrees, we could reach 104 degrees on Thursday afternoon.

Considering the humidity, it feels more like 41.2 °C.

“It’s pretty intense,” said Evan Andrews, a meteorologist with FOX 4 Weather. “For those of you who said, ‘Oh, it was pretty hot yesterday,’ the heat index yesterday was about 105 or 106. Today, the humidity is not likely to decrease in the afternoon and the air quality is not expected to be good either.”

You won’t want to go outside unless you absolutely have to.

Fortunately, the chance of rain for North Texas has decreased somewhat.

In the northern counties, the chance of rain is about 20% Thursday evening. Some of those showers and storms could linger another 20% Friday morning.

Even on Saturday there is a slight chance of rain from Oklahoma.

The better news is that a slight summer snap is likely to keep temperatures above 30 degrees across the country on Friday and throughout the weekend.

It’s not really cold, but definitely better than Thursday.

So who’s ready for fall?
