90 Day Fiancé‘s Meitalia collapses when her husband James comes to visit her in Indonesia.

In PEOPLE’s exclusive first look at the Monday, August 12 episode of The other wayMeitalia and James sit down with her parents and Meitalia expresses extreme guilt for causing them stress. When she starts to cry, no one seems to be able to comfort her.

“We don’t want to be a burden to you both any more,” she says through tears. “I’ve been a burden to you all my life and I can’t be a burden to you any more after my wedding.”

Despite her feelings, Meitalia’s mother assures her that “it is not a problem for me,” and her father shares this view.

“When you have children later, you have to take responsibility for them,” he explains. “This way you can also discuss things with your children.”

Still, Meitalia’s scream turns into sobs and she struggles to breathe. While she buries her head in her hands, James sits next to her, not knowing what to do.

“Mom, I’m coming home and causing you more problems,” she says as her mother gets up to hug her.

“Kiss her feet and ask for her forgiveness,” her father suggests, telling his wife to sit down. “Now you can kiss her feet.”

Meitalia quickly stands up, kneels in front of her mother, kisses her feet and apologizes profusely. “I’m so sorry, Mom,” she cries.

“Ask her for forgiveness,” her father insists.

I am so, so sorry,” Meitalia continues.

Meanwhile, James watches from the side and wonders why his wife is experiencing such extreme emotions. “Things escalated very, very quickly,” he tells the cameras. “I have no idea what’s happening anymore. I don’t know why she’s so upset right now.”

As Meitalia continues to sob, James admits, “I feel very alone,” and no one explains to him how it got to this point.

“God, I’m confused,” he adds before the clip ends.

In the final episode of the TLC series, Meitalia confessed that she had not told her parents that she and James were returning to Indonesia permanently. When he arrived, Meitalia’s parents were also frustrated because James had not kept his promise to learn Indonesian, which made him panic about not being able to keep other promises of being the breadwinner and having children with Meitalia, as he was unsure if he could keep those promises.

“It is disturbingly clear that the three promises are still important to them,” he said in the August 5 episode.
