Trump too old, frail and too risky for the presidency

Trump too old, frail and too risky for the presidency

You don’t have to be a retired neurologist like me to know that older people are not as sharp and energetic as people in their 50s, the average age to become president.

A majority of Americans decided long ago that Biden and Trump are both too old. Trump is the oldest presidential candidate in history, is overweight and doesn’t exercise much. According to CNN, a recent cardiac CT scan revealed a life-threatening heart condition.

Is Trump running to continue a long career in public life? Trump was able to avoid Vietnam due to heel spurs and, oddly, was the first president without any public service experience, so that’s unlikely. Does he understand that being president should be the most stressful job in the world and comes with risks? In his long, rambling speeches and interviews, he confuses Nikki Haley with Nancy Pelosi, Biden with Obama, and fiction with reality, so maybe he actually doesn’t get it.

Simply retreating to Mar-a-Lago with his poster wife to chase golf balls and other women would still be legally risky. If Trump becomes president again, he may abuse his office to avoid prison. He should instead seriously consider fleeing to Abu Dhabi, as former Spanish King Juan Carlos did after his tax fraud and extramarital affair case.

The wannabe king and the disgraced king have so much in common they could be friends! How much better would hanging out in Abu Dhabi be than wearing an orange jumpsuit. The desert heat might help his heel spurs too.
