New archive with over 500 DJ Randall mixes put online – News

A new archive of more than 500 mixes by the late DJ Randall has been compiled and released online. DJMag reports.

The fan-made archive appeared on Reddit’s jungle and drum ‘n’ bass forums over the weekend with user Ok-Wishbone-7354, who explained that all 500 mixes were “categorized by event.”

The archive includes some of his earliest sets, recorded during his residency at AWOL in London in the early 1990s, through to mixes for Metalheadz, Rinse FM, One Nation, Kiss 100 FM, BBC Radio 1and more.

“I went through them manually and kept the naming structure as consistent as possible. Where I have them, dates and years are given, but there are also one or two mixes for which I don’t know these,” the archivist explained, adding that there is an additional folder for various mixes.

The archive also contains two sets recorded for Mixmagone in 1994 during Mixmag‘s live tour with Jumping Jack Frost and another recorded at The Lab LDN in 2016 – a set on the history of the jungle with tracks from 1992 to 1995.

Mixes in the archive can be downloaded via Dropbox, Google Drive, Mediafire and the new music search engine cosine.club, which offers users the ability to search for new music similar to their favorite tracks.

The release of the fan-made archive comes just a week after the death of DJ Randall. The jungle and drum ‘n’ bass pioneer died at the end of July at the age of 54.

Following his death, a flood of tributes came in from DJ Fresh, Paul Woolford, Nia Archives, DJ Zinc, Andy C and others.
