In PEOPLE’s exclusive preview of Sunday’s episode of 90 Day FiancéDevin’s family is unhappy about Nick’s criticism of their daughter and is concerned about her mental well-being after learning that he gives her his favorite nickname.
As the group gathers to enjoy Southern Fish and Chips, one of Devin’s family members asks Nick how Americans are perceived by South Koreans.

“Eating greasy food and being fat,” laughs Nick.
When he notices the shocked looks on their faces, the Korean native tries to take back his assessment. “I don’t think so,” he clarifies. “People in Korea think so.”
“No offense,” he adds.

Devin explains the price difference between “unhealthy” and “healthy” foods in America, which leads her father to comment that some people are “lazy” and it’s “easier to get something at the drive-thru than to cook yourself.”
Nick turns his attention back to Devin and says, “You’re lazy, so you always get fast food for lunch.”

“No wonder you’re a pig,” he jokes.
When someone asks, “Are you serious?” he responds by grabbing Devin’s stomach – much to the disappointment of her family members.
“I’m just telling the truth,” he says, shrugging his shoulders. “You always eat fast food for lunch.”

In a confessional, Devin’s father expresses concern about Nick’s verbal abuse and worries about how his criticism might affect her self-image.

“It bothers me that he calls her piggy, even though Devin acts like it doesn’t bother her,” he admits. “I don’t want it to bother her deep down.”
Devin notes that her family members were uncomfortable with his jibes and suggests that he say “nice things” instead of making comments about her body. One family member says he can call her “beautiful,” and he tries to make up for it by calling her “sweet.”
