Stephen Curry cemented his reputation as one of the greatest basketball players of all time on Saturday by making eight 3-pointers in the United States’ 98-87 victory over France, securing its fifth consecutive gold medal.

“He’s the best shooter of all time,” Devin Booker told reporters after Curry’s legendary performance.

There’s no real argument about that at the moment. The four-time NBA champion and two-time MVP is the all-time leader in three-point shots made (3,747) and three-point attempts (8,805), all while shooting 42.6 percent.

He is the only player in NBA history to make more than 400 three-pointers in a season (402 in 2015-16) and has five seasons with 300 or more three-pointers. Only two other players in NBA history, James Harden and Klay Thompson, have made more than 300 three-pointers in a single season.

When he made four three-pointers late in the fourth quarter against France, his teammates were stunned… but not really surprised.

“I was able to witness greatness. … Watch Steph? Hey, I just told him, ‘Boy, you’re crazy, bro,'” Anthony Edwards told reporters after the game. “Shorty went nuts. I have nothing to say about it. He is who he is, you understand me?”
