3-month-old boy reported missing in Lafayette, found dead – 95.3 MNC

UPDATE: The Silver Alert for Jacob Moneus has been cancelled.

The boy who disappeared on Saturday was found dead early Sunday morning.

In a press release, Lafayette police said Jacob Moneus was found after “an extensive search.”

A Silver Alert was issued for Moneus on Saturday as he was believed to be “in extreme danger”. He was last seen around 12pm on Saturday.

“This is a devastating development and our thoughts are with Jacob’s family during this incredibly difficult time. The Lafayette Police Department is committed to conducting a thorough investigation to clarify the events that led to this tragedy,” the press release continued.

They also said they would provide more information as it became available.

ORIGINAL STORY: A statewide Silver Alert has been issued as Lafayette Police investigate the disappearance of Jacob Moneus, a three-month-old black male, 18 inches tall, 13 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, who was last seen wearing a blue shirt with a black bird on it and a diaper.

Jacob is missing from Lafayette and was last seen at 12pm on Saturday, August 10, 2024. He is believed to be in extreme danger and may require medical attention.
