“Harry Potter” star Rupert Grint has had a daughter with his partner Georgia Groome.
The actor, best known for his role as Ron Weasley in the wizarding series, announced the news on Thursday evening.
Grint is the first of the main characters in the Harry Potter film series – Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson – to become a father.

A statement from the couple’s publicist said: “Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome are delighted to confirm the birth of their baby daughter. We would ask that you please respect their privacy at this very special time.”
Grint, 31, and Groome, 28, have been together since 2011. In April, they announced that she was pregnant.
Grint rose to worldwide fame after playing the role of Ron, Harry’s loyal but accident-prone best friend, in 2001’s Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
He played the role in all eight films.
Grint’s television roles include the Sky One comedy “Sick Note”, the crime drama “Snatch” and the Agatha Christie adaptation “The ABC Murders”.
Groome is best known for her roles in the 2006 crime drama London To Brighton and the 2008 comedy Angus, Thongs And Perfect Snogging.
