Officials identify Wausau man killed in Wood County traffic crash Thursday


The accident occurred around 7:16 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of US 10 and Wood County N in the town of Milladore.

MILLADORE – Officials have released the name of a 60-year-old Wausau man who was killed in a crash between a motorcycle and a car in Wood County Thursday night.

Alonzo B. Dvorak was riding his motorcycle eastbound on U.S. 10 around 7:16 p.m. Thursday when a vehicle driven by an 86-year-old Junction City woman traveling northbound on Wood County N failed to yield at a stop sign in the town of Milladore, according to a news release from the Wood County Sheriff’s Office. The motorcycle and the other vehicle collided. Dvorak was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the news release.

A 57-year-old Wausau woman who was riding on the motorcycle suffered multiple injuries and was flown to a hospital by Lifelink helicopter, according to the sheriff’s office. There was no report on the condition of the passenger.

The 86-year-old Junction City woman was injured in the crash and taken to the hospital by private vehicle, the sheriff’s office said.

The Wood County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin State Patrol are investigating the crash. According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, eastbound lanes of U.S. 10 near the crash scene were closed for more than two hours Thursday evening.
