Kelly Ripa has officially cemented her legendary status!

On Sunday, August 11, the talk show host was named a Disney Legend at the D23 event in Anaheim, California, an honor given to individuals who have made a significant impact on the company.

Ryan Seacrest presented Ripa, 53, with the award in a sweet moment where she was reunited with her former co-host. Seacrest, 49, left Live with Kelly and Ryan last year, and Ripa’s husband, Mark Consuelos, replaced him as co-host.

“Thank you so much, and Ryan, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’m just so glad you finally found something else to host,” Ripa began her speech, poking fun at Seacrest’s many appearances.

Ripa then congratulated everyone else who was honored as a Disney Legend, adding, “This feels surreal to me and I want to thank Bob Iger for this truly magical experience.”

“By the way, I’ve known Bob for 35 years and he hasn’t aged a day,” she joked. “So I just want to know what kind of ride this is.”

Ripa also praised everyone who attended D23 before touting her own honor. “I know what you’re thinking. Why her? What has she ever done? She doesn’t even go here,” Ripa said. “But to you, I say, you sound just like my family.”

Later in her speech, Ripa explained that she owes “everything” to the Walt Disney Company – both professionally and personally – as she met her “super hot husband” Consuelos on the set of All my children.

The mother of three then joked that the couple “made” their children – sons Michael and Joaquin and daughter Lola – “right backstage in the Disney labs.”

Ripa concluded her speech by recalling the time her father took the family on their first trip to Walt Disney World in Florida before thanking those who had done her this honor.

Ripa was honored at the ceremony for her work in television throughout her three-decade career, beginning with All my children and then almost a quarter of a century as host Live!

Other stars named Disney Legends included Miley Cyrus, Angela Bassett, Colleen Atwood, Martha Blanding, James L. Brooks, James Cameron, Jamie Lee Curtis, Steve Ditko, Harrison Ford, Mark Henn, Frank Oz, Joe Rohde and John Williams.

In a video announcing this year’s honorees, Seacrest said this was an opportunity to “honor people who have shaped Disney and left a lasting impression on the company.”

He called it the “highest honor the Walt Disney Company can bestow,” adding that the title is reserved for creative people who “have pushed the boundaries of creativity, challenged conventional wisdom and broken the constraints of the status quo in search of new possibilities and excellence.”
