Ed Sheeran regrets giving Tori Kelly his song

Ed Sheeran says the only song he would rather keep to himself is one he wrote for Tori Kelly’s album.

The “Thinking Out Loud” hitmaker wrote “I Was Made For Loving You” for the 24-year-old beauty’s “Unbreakable Smile” LP and admitted he wished he hadn’t given it away because it was so “beautiful.”

When asked on New York radio station Fresh 102.7 if he regretted giving up one of his songs, he said: “The one on Tori Kelly’s album ‘I Was Made For Loving You’. I remember writing that with Tori and saying beforehand, ‘Whatever we write, it’s definitely for your album, don’t worry about it,’ and I remember halfway through thinking, ‘Aghhh, God, I wish I could keep that.'”

“It’s a really beautiful song and it turned out so, so well.

“But that’s a song I would have liked to keep.”

The “Castle on the Hill” hitmaker had previously admitted that “Love Yourself” by Just Bieber “wouldn’t have made it onto his new album.”

The 25-year-old singer gifted the pop sensation the song, which appears on his 2015 LP “Purpose,” because it wasn’t good enough to appear on his own upcoming album “÷.”

He recently said: “That was a song I wrote for ‘÷’. It just wasn’t going to make it. And then Justin took it, did his thing with it, released it as a single and made it what it is.”

“The fact that a song that would never have been released became the biggest song of last year – it was the No. 1 song on Billboard for the entire year in 2016 and was nominated for Song of the Year at the Grammys – shows that you shouldn’t always write things off.”

Ed’s third studio album is scheduled to be released on March 3rd.
