Fortnite Battle Pass rewards may appear in the store under Epic Games’ new policy

Fortnite Battle Pass rewards may appear in the store under Epic Games’ new policy

Fourteen days is reversing a long-standing policy for its Battle Passes. Previously, developer Epic Games had treated Battle Pass items as limited-time rewards that would never appear in the in-game shop. In the future, Epic Games could make Battle Pass rewards available in the shop, but not until 18 months after the pass expires. The company said the updated policy will not affect Battle Pass pricing.

“This change allows us to continue investing in new and exciting Battle Pass rewards while also giving players the opportunity to enjoy content in the future, including outfits based on popular licensed characters,” Epic Games said in a statement released Wednesday.

This policy covers all types of articles that are in a Fourteen days Battle Pass. The store may offer alternate versions of a Battle Pass reward as well as the original version. The 18-month waiting period also applies to all items from the Bonus Reward and Quest Reward tabs of the game.

The ability to purchase a cosmetic later takes some of the pressure of exclusivity away from players each season. Epic said there was no guarantee that a cosmetic from the Battle Pass would be available in the shop at a later date, so playing long enough to get unlocks is still the most reliable way to get an item you really want. However, the studio said it would notify players when an item would be exclusive to the Battle Pass.

Battle Passes are a common way for game developers to generate revenue for games-as-a-service. The latest for Fourteen days has a , with connections to the Mad Max And Stand out Franchises. Or if cute and colorful appeals to you, check out the limited-time integration.
