Pezeshkian calls for multipolar world order and criticizes US policy

TEHRAN: The Iranian President stressed the urgent need to create a multipolar world order and criticized the US policies and actions that put pressure on countries like Iran and try to deprive them of their rights and benefits.

In a telephone conversation with European Council President Charles Michel on Sunday, Masoud Pezeshkian described these efforts as an attempt by the United States to block the emergence of a new world order and thus endanger global peace and stability.

During the phone call, Pezeshkian reiterated Iran’s long-standing commitment to global peace, stability and tranquility for all nations and stressed that any process that threatens these values must be stopped.

He criticized the United States and some Western countries for applying double standards, arguing that this has encouraged the Zionist regime to commit horrific acts of terror and violence in Gaza, further endangering regional and global security.

Responding to Michel’s interest in reviving nuclear deal talks, Pezeshkian stressed that mutual trust and preserving mutual benefits are crucial to any successful agreement. He added that if both parties honor their commitments and restore trust, it would open the door to discussing other issues.

The President of the European Council expressed hope for renewed and effective cooperation between Iran and the European Union on the basis of mutual benefit. Michel also stressed the desire of European countries to improve their relations with Iran.
