Yakima County, Washington — The Yakima County Elections Department is seeking committee members to vote for and against local ballot proposals that will be on the ballot for the November 5, 2024 general election.
Committee members provide written arguments for or against a nomination, which then appear in the local voter handbook.
Members of the “For” committee are needed for the following purposes:
City of Toppenish Proposal No. 1, Formation of a Municipal Park District
Yakima County Proposal No. 1 to create a Lower Valley Hospital District
Members of the “counter” committee are needed for:
Union Gap School District No. 2 Proposal No. 1, Construction Bonds
City of Toppenish Proposal No. 1, Formation of a Municipal Park District
Yakima County Proposal No. 1 to create a Lower Valley Hospital District
Committee members must be registered to vote in Yakima County and provide an email address. Each committee is limited to three members. Requests for participation will be compiled during the announced time. If there are more than three volunteers for a committee at the end of the week of participation, members for that committee will be selected by lottery. Committee chairs for each committee will also be selected by lottery.
