Machine Gun Kelly talks about the emotional reunion with his mother

Machine Gun Kelly spoke about his difficult relationship with his mother in a candid interview on “Dumb Blonde,” hosted by Bunnie XO.

The premiere of the eighth season showed the singer’s emotional journey full of love and alienation.

“I want to state for the record that I love my mother dearly and often misrepresented her early in my career,” Machine Gun Kelly said, directly addressing his previous public comments.

The rapper turned rock star went on to explain that his portrayals were based on his personal experiences rather than the overarching truth.

“And not misrepresented in the sense of not telling the truth. I spoke my truth, but I did not give the masses a chance to understand their truth,” he added, acknowledging the nuances of their troubled past.

Kelly’s difficult childhood also included his mother leaving the family, which led to years of loss of contact.

The lack of communication left scars that Kelly processed in his 2019 hit “Burning Memories,” in which he expressed his pain with the rhyme, “I spent 20 years waiting on the stairs / Now I don’t believe anyone will ever answer these prayers.”

During the interview, Machine Gun Kelly shared his blatant appeal for connection.

“You have to come to me,” he complained. “Come the hell and find me, no matter what it takes.”

These words reveal his deep longing for his mother during the years they were separated.

After years of estrangement, mother and son found each other again in 2021.

Their reconciliation culminated in a heartwarming Instagram post from Kelly in 2022. The photo showed the couple reunited and the caption, “Meeting my mommy,” signaled a new chapter in their relationship.
