Will Mufasa pose a threat to Tollywood?

Mufasa: The Lion King is one of the most popular franchises worldwide. The film is dubbed into regional Indian languages and the Telugu versions have always received a positive response.

The next film in the series will feature the tragic death of Mufasa at the hands of his brother Scar. And then we learned that Mufasa’s son Simba will fight to reclaim his rightful place as king of the jungle. This power play is going to be interesting.

The new film also gives us insight into Mufasa’s backstory. Barry Jenkins is the director of the film and he designed the story to show Mufasa’s rise to become King of the Jungle.

The film will feature an all-star cast, including key roles for Aaron Pierre, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Tiffany Boone, Kagiso Lediga and Preston Nyman. The big release is scheduled for December 20, around Christmas Eve, giving the film a decent head start in theaters.

The film will be released worldwide and the Telugu version will be released appropriately. Films like Pushpa and Robinhood are scheduled to release in December. However, Pushpa will be released in the first week of December and if Mufasa hits the screens, Pushpa might prove its dominance.

We will have to wait and see if there are any more Telugu films releasing in December.
