Chester County Municipality on the List of Fastest Growing Cities

The population of Phoenixville grew by 2,353 people from 2010 to 2020.

While population growth in the U.S. is generally slowing due to declining birth rates, an aging population, and fewer immigrants, there are places that are bucking the trend. A new report from Stacker highlights the fastest-growing “cities” in Pennsylvania, and Chester County is one of them.

The list is the result of an analysis of nationwide data from the US Census Bureau. The cities were ranked according to the highest population growth from 2010 to 2020.

Phoenixville ranked 13th in the state with a population increase of 2,353 residents, ranking 1,905th in the nation.

Phoenixville had a population of 18,602 in 2020. That means the population grew by 14.5 percent, ranking the city 300th in Pennsylvania and 7,133rd among all cities nationwide.

Currently, Phoenixville is the 36th largest “city” in Pennsylvania and the 2,419th largest in the country.
