Ocean Institute Whale and Marine Life Tour
Your two-and-a-half-hour adventure aboard the RV Sea Explorer, the Ocean Institute’s 65-foot research vessel, will take you miles beyond the pier of Dana Point Harbor in search of marine mammals such as migrating blue whales, large schools of playful dolphins, the impressive sunfish called mola, and lithe harbor seals and sea lions.
The Ocean Institute’s professional naturalists are on hand to teach you about the lives of the marine creatures that inhabit the waters off Dana Point.
Hands-on activities include sorting mud samples from the seabed and fishing for plankton.
Ocean Institute cruises are safe and fun for the whole family, and everyone learns something new about our oceans and the life in them.
