Christian Roa allowed a home run to the first batter he faced. In the middle of his at-bat against the next batter, he was forced to leave the game. The second pitch of the at-bat was called a foul and the trainer and manager went to the mound. After about two seconds, Pat Kelly called for someone to warm up and Roa went to the dugout. Roa threw three fastballs in that inning with speeds of 89.9 MPH, 89.7 MPH and 90.7 MPH. His fastball average is 95 and he has had games where he averaged nearly 98.

Game Notes
Leo Balcazar has extended his hitting streak to 10 games. Not related to the hit streak, but I noticed it when I was looking through his stats – he had five walks in May. He had two walks in April, once in June, once in July and once in August. 10 walks in the entire season and half of them came in May.
Cam Collier hasn’t had a hit in his last three games, but he extended his on-base streak to 15 games thanks to five walks in the last three days. He has now more walks than strikeouts in his last 10 games, with 11 walks and eight strikeouts.
Ethan O’Donnell kept hitting. From June 14 to July 26, he went 12-83 (.145) with one extra-base hit – a home run. In the 13 games he’s played since then, he’s gone 21-53 with 10 extra-base hits and hit .396/.421/.736.
Jay Allen II appears to have put his long slump in August behind him. He has had hits in eight of the nine games he has played for the Dragons this month. His batting average is .333/.472/.519 and he has more walks (6) than strikeouts (5).
Simon Miller’s stellar season continued with another 1.2 hitless innings as he picked up his 9th save of the year. He lowered his ERA to 2.06 in 39.1 innings in which he allowed 23 hits, walked 21 batters and had 49 strikeouts between Daytona and Dayton.
