Suits was a fairly popular legal drama that aired on the USA Network from 2011 to 2019. Fans who watched back then fell in love with the story and the characters. These include Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams), a brilliant college dropout with a photographic memory, and Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht), his mentor at a prestigious New York law firm. There was just one small but crucial detail that was floating around in his mind: Although Mike worked as a lawyer, he never finished law school.

In 2023, four years after the end of the series’ nine seasons, Suits was added Netflix and Peacock and its popularity increased. A whole new audience was excited about the show. Ted Chervin-inspired suits: LA’s protagonist

Stephen Amell’s character is called Ted Black and is reportedly based on the real CAA agent and former managing director of ICM Partners, Ted Chervinaccording to Deadline. In fact Deadline reported that the show was initially only supposed to be called TedThe slogan for Suits: LA describes the show as a show about black people, a former New York federal prosecutor who took the big step to Los Angeles while fleeing the MafiaThanks to his reputation and charm, he takes on some of the most powerful clients in the city.

Likewise, Chervin began his career as a federal prosecutor in New York after graduating from Harvard Law School (similar to many of the characters in the original series Suits), where he actually worked to take down monsters and organized crime bosses. Like Black, he eventually moved to Los Angeles in hopes of becoming a Hollywood talent agent.

Ironic, Chervin claimed his career path was inspired by the character Ari Gold from another show, the HBO series entourage. That character, played by Jeremy Piven, was also reportedly inspired by a real person: Ari Emanuel, CEO of Endeavor, a holding company for talent and media agencies. “I basically traded in my badge at the Department of Justice to try to become a real-life Ari Gold,” Chervin once said during a TED Talk.

To close the circle of history, the original series Suits Was Also inspired by entourage. According to Deadline Suits And Suits: LA Creator Aaron Korsh developed Suits as entourage-style comedy set on Wall Street. The main character was inspired by Korsh’s boss at the time. When USA Network thought the world of law would be more interesting than the world of finance, he changed the script.

What is the connection between Suits: LA and Suits?

Knowing this background, it seems Suits: LA maybe not really Suitsbut a show that Korsh had already worked on and which was renamed to reflect the Suits Name. Since the focus is on Hollywood talent, the only real overlap is the fact that Black is a lawyer.

Can a new Suits Series work? Knowing that the show was written by the same author, you can assume that the tone and feel will be similar to SuitsAccording to Deadline, Korsh told NBC Universal that he was looking to create a Suits Universe, which he compared with Yellowstoneeach show has a new setting and new characters. The show will also have a more glamorous Hollywood setting and clients from the entertainment industry rather than the financial business, giving the concept a unique dynamic: sunglasses and glamour versus hot dog stands and briefcases.

“(Black’s) company is in crisis,” the show’s official logline says, “and to survive, he must take on a role he has despised his entire career.” So Black sounds like a mix of Mike Ross and Harvey Specter, a moral and fair man who still knows how to get the job done and fight for his clients, no matter what the situation. Nevertheless, Suits: LA will miss the magic of the original storyline that made fans Suits First and foremost – Mike Ross has no license to practice. This dark cloud hung over every case he handled. Every time someone got close to the truth, there was an intensity that this new show must somehow emulate.

Who else will wear Suits: LA?

While Suits: LA Although none of the original cast members are officially reprising their roles, Universal International Studios President Beatrice Springborn told Variety that the show will have “the same energy and the same good-looking people as the original.” In addition to Amell as Black, Josh McDermitt (The Walking Dead) will play his old friend and partner Stuart Lane. It is hoped that the pair will develop the same electrifying chemistry that Macht and Adams had on screen as colleagues, friends and sometimes even rivals.

Davis told People that “maybe some of the original cast will carry over. It’s not impossible.” There will also be cameo appearances from celebrities, similar to entourage which also took place in the glitz and glamour of Hollywood.
