Charlie Jones is week to week, according to Zac Taylor

Update 2: Following the Cincinnati Bengals’ preseason loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, head coach Zac Taylor announced that Charlie Jones would be a week-to-week starter.

Even though Jones will miss the rest of the preseason, it is wonderful news that his season is not over yet.

Update: We are still awaiting the results of the MRI scan, but Charlie Jones was able to walk around the locker room, albeit cautiously, without crutches.

Andrei Iosivas said Jones collided with someone’s knees and injured himself. Iosivas believes Jones will recover.

The Cincinnati Bengals were at Paycor Stadium on Thursday to prepare for their season opener on Saturday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Unfortunately, they may lose wide receiver Charlie Jones due to a serious leg injury.

During 7-on-7 drills, Jones caught a pass and immediately went down with a non-contact lower-body injury. He was unable to bear weight on the injured leg and had to be lifted onto a cart and taken to the locker room for further evaluation.

Although it is too early to assess the full extent of the injury, it appears to be a serious injury.

This was the first day on the Bengals’ new FieldTurf.

Jones missed much of his rookie season due to a thumb injury that required surgery. He had a great training camp this year and looked ready to take over the starting receiver spot after Tyler Boyd left for the Tennessee Titans.

We hope the injury is not as bad as it looked.
