St. John’s County, Florida. – The St. Johns County Republican Party (SJCRP) is searching for the person responsible for sending out fake voter handbooks.

Denver Cook, chairman of the SJCRP, explained the difference between the two voter handbooks.

“This is our real voter guide. On the back you can see why we did this. At the bottom you’ll find the necessary disclaimers,” Cook said.

The real leader supports eight candidates in the primaries, the fake leader supports eight different candidates.

Cook said the party was notified of the fake guides on Friday when people began receiving them in the mail.

“You can see that it was mailed from Jacksonville on August 7 with a stamp and no return address,” Cook said.

Cook said they never sent anything from Jacksonville.

“We wouldn’t have mailed them from Jacksonville, but besides, these cards aren’t prepared for mailing,” Cook said. “We have no way to put a stamp or an address on them. And besides, we don’t have one.”

Cook said the person or persons responsible are in the wrong.

He also said that this could have a negative impact on the politicians they support as it would cause them to lose votes.

“I would call this more than dirty politics,” Cook said. “Dirty politics is when you see hate mail sent against individuals, or fabricated attack letters based on a grain of truth and then blown up to be a whole thing. This goes way beyond that. This is outright fraud and criminal.”

The St. Johns County Democratic Party released a statement in response to the fake voting guides.

The St. John’s Democratic Party had nothing to do with or know about these events until today’s reporting. We are not aware of any organizations or individuals with knowledge of them. It appears to be evidence of ongoing Republican infighting between the Trump Club and the REC, who have long been feuding over statements of support. We are saddened by the continued disregard for our country’s democracy here in Northeast Florida and the nation at large. Our party does not support one Democrat over another in the primary process. We want the people to decide and then we will support that choice in the general election. The St. John’s Democratic Party is strongly united and focused on electing Democrats on every ballot. We welcome all Republicans and NPAs to join us in electing Kamala Harris as the next President of these United States.

Check back tonight to hear what the SJCRP plans to do next and how those receiving these fake guides can help them.
