75 firefighters fight fire at Warner Bros Studio, where the Harry Potter films were shot

Update: The fire brigade has now extinguished the fire that broke out overnight at the Warner Bros. studios in Leavesden.

The fire broke out late Wednesday evening at one of the storage facilities in Leavesden, Hertfordshire.

Hertfordshire County Council Fire and Rescue Service said that “the appliance was not in use at the time of the fire” and that “there are no injuries”.

A spokeswoman later said: “The fire at Warner Bros Studios has now been extinguished, but several vehicles are still on site.”

Original story: 18 fire crews and around 75 firefighters are currently battling a fire at the Warner Bros. studios in Leavesden after a fire broke out last night.

The studio where the Harry Potter films were shot is also home to the Harry Potter Studio Tour.

According to reports in the Watford Observer, people nearby were awakened by a “very strong smell of smoke”.

To extinguish the flames, the fire department is currently releasing water from a nearby canal.

“There are currently 18 fire engines and support vehicles on site as emergency services continue to tackle the fire. Three jet aircraft and an aerial ladder are in use,” Hertfordshire County Council said in a statement.

An earlier statement said: “Fire and emergency services were called to a fire at Warner Bros Studios, Leavesden, Hertfordshire at 11.29pm on Wednesday 10 July.

“Fifteen fire engines and support vehicles are currently on site fighting a fire on one of the stages.

“The set was not in use at the time of the fire. There are no injuries.”

“The incident is still ongoing.”

It is not just the studio where all eight Harry Potter Films were made, films like Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight, Mission: Impossible – Fallout And Spider-Man: Far From Home were also filmed there.
