USDA’s national assessments of corn and soybeans remained unchanged last week.

This follows another week of very good developing weather across much of the region, but warmer, drier weather is expected in many areas in the short term, which could lead to tensions.

As of Sunday, 67% of the U.S. corn crop is rated good to excellent, with 97% of the crop forming a bud, 74% in the dough stage, 30% damaged and 5% ripe. All values ​​are very close to the five-year average.

68% of the soybeans are in good to excellent condition, 95% of the plants are in flower and 81% are in the pod setting phase; both values ​​are close to average.

96% of winter wheat has been harvested (normally 95%), with the majority remaining in the Pacific Northwest.

73% of spring wheat is rated good to excellent, up 1%, with 31% of the crop harvested, compared to 36% normally at this time of year.

42% of the cotton crop is in good to excellent condition, 4% more. 84% are forming bolls and 19% of these bolls are opening, which is faster than usual.

79% of rice is reported as good to excellent, unchanged from the previous week. 94% is ear ripe and 21% harvested, both above average.

49% of the sorghum is in good to excellent condition (a decrease of 2%), 83% has formed ears and 39% is coloring faster than usual, while 19% is ripe, which remains unchanged in most years.

34% of pastures and rangelands in the United States are rated as good to excellent, a decrease of 1%.
