4 Browns players leave preseason game against Packers due to injury

CLEVELAND — Nobody likes to see injuries, especially in the preseason. Unfortunately, the Browns did not come out of their first game unscathed, as four players left the first preseason game of the year against the Green Bay Packers due to injuries in the first half.

First, safety Ronnie Hickman covered Packers wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks, who broke free for a 65-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jordan Love. Hickman backed off a bit in coverage and left the field after the play.

Hickman’s return was listed as questionable due to a back injury.

Shortly afterwards, wide receiver David Bell’s return was considered questionable due to a hamstring injury. Bell had caught a pass for five yards before leaving the game.

Then came the most worrying injury: Offensive lineman Luke Wypler suffered a leg injury early in the second quarter.

Wypler remained on the field and the trainers came out with the cart. Wypler’s right leg was placed in an aircast, he was loaded onto the cart and taken to the locker room for evaluation. He was quickly taken out of action due to an ankle injury.

Shortly before halftime, the Browns also announced that safety Vincent Gray’s return was questionable. He was diagnosed with a groin injury.
