3 people, including a child, were injured in a two-car crash in Jones County on Saturday

JONES COUNTY, Mississippi (WDAM) – Two adults and a child were injured in a two-car crash in Jones County Saturday afternoon.

According to JCFC, firefighters from the Sandersville and Rustin volunteer fire departments responded to an accident on Florence Church Road just before 2 p.m. Saturday.

The accident occurred in the same area and in almost the same manner as another collision on August 15.

When firefighters arrived, they found a Pontiac Sunfire and a Dodge Charger with significant front-end damage following a head-on collision.

According to the fire brigade council, two adults were seriously injured and one child was moderately injured.

According to JCFC, firefighters immediately began providing emergency medical care to the injured and regulated traffic due to the road closure.

EMServ emergency medical services personnel and Jones County Sheriff’s Department officers also arrived at the scene.

Sandersville Police officers also assisted by closing Florence Church Road at US 11.

The road remained closed for just over an hour.
