3 burning questions about the Browns’ last preseason game against the Seahawks

3 burning questions about the Browns’ last preseason game against the Seahawks

Will QB Deshaun Watson play?

The biggest question of the week was Watson’s status for Saturday’s game. When Stefanski said the starters should expect to play earlier in the week, Watson was originally included in that group.

However, questions arose as the week went on about whether he would play and be in the starting lineup and how much he would play. Stefanski said those factors would be determined as the week went on.

Watson also had limited practice on Wednesday due to general arm soreness, but Stefanski said Watson was “feeling good” and rested for the final portion of practice.

During Thursday’s practice, Watson resumed throwing and completed his normal amount of reps with the first team. There was no update on his status for Saturday’s game.

If Watson starts or plays against Seattle, it will be his first live game action since November of the 2023 season. He has made progress during the offseason and training camp, participating in 11-on-11 and 7-on-7 drills and taking the majority of reps during joint workouts with the Vikings. At the same time, as the Browns prepare for the first week of the regular season, game reps could prove useful for Watson leading up to the 2024 regular season.
