21-year-old dies after shooting near Chesterfield industrial complex

CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WWBT) – A Virginia woman who was shot near an industrial complex in Chesterfield last week has died.

According to police, officers were called to a shooting in the 1200 block of Battery Brooke Parkway shortly before midnight on August 7.

When officers arrived, they found 21-year-old Kayla M. Healey of Aylett, Virginia, shot to death.

She was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

According to police, she died on Sunday.

During the investigation, police obtained arrest warrants for two suspects, later identified as Nibreya A. Kee (29) and Rose M. Nadey.

The two were arrested on Monday in Fairfax, Virginia.

They are currently being held at the Fairfax County Detention Center and are facing the following charges:

Nibreya A. Kee

  • Serious intentional bodily harm
  • Use of a firearm
  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

Rose M. Nadey

  • Serious intentional bodily harm
  • Conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm with intent

“At this time, the investigation indicates that Healey, Kee, Nadey and others were involved in an altercation at an event on Battery Brooke Parkway last week. During this altercation, Kee shot at Healey, who was seated in a vehicle at the time,” Chesterfield police said.

The investigation is ongoing and further charges are pending.
