21 Ole Miss players on the Senior Bowl watch list

21 Ole Miss players on the Senior Bowl watch list

There are only a few days left until the first Saturday of the new college football season, and even though it’s only four games, it’s still time to get excited. Ole Miss will begin its 2024 season the following Saturday when it welcomes FCS team Furman to Oxford.

The first game of the college football season will be in Dublin, Ireland, where Florida State will face Georgia Tech in a thrilling ACC matchup. With just days to go before the season begins, the Reese’s Senior Bowl has announced the names to watch this season, and a select number will make it to Mobile, Alabama.

Ole Miss had a record 21 players at the Reese’s Senior Bowl yesterday, the most by one team. Below are the Rebels players that Jim Nagy and his staff will be keeping a close eye on this season.

Princely Umanmielen, Walter Nolen, Antwane Wells, Tre Harris, Caden Prieskorn, Jaxson Dart, Micah Pettus, JJ Pegues, Jared Ivey, Ulysses Bentley, Khari Coleman, Yam Banks, Trey Washington, Trey Amos, Jeremy James, Key Lawrence, Jordan Watkins , Logan Diggs, Chris Paul Jr., Isaiah Hamilton and Gerquan Scott.

The Reese’s Senior Bowl is a postseason all-star game that puts draft-eligible college athletes in the spotlight before NFL scouts. The all-star game will take place on Saturday, February 1, and will include a week of training drills for each position group that will be closely watched by scouts.

At the 2024 Senior Bowl, former Ole Miss defensive end Cedric Johnson Jr. received an invite and performed well, especially in scrimmages. The Cincinnati Bengals selected Johnson in Round 6 of the 2024 NFL Draft and he appears to have a good chance of making the 53-man roster.

Ole Miss has a lot of talented seniors on the roster and will likely perform well at the 2025 Senior Bowl. The recent change allowing juniors to participate in the Senior Bowl means defensive tackle Walter Nolen could make it to Mobile this season.
