IIt’s that exciting time of year when we witness the crowning of a new Pokémon GO World Champion. The entire Pokémon GO community is invited to join in the fun and have the opportunity to watch the 2024 Pokémon World Championships on Twitch and YouTube from August 16-18, 2024. On the first day of the competition, Twitch viewers will see a special code that allows them to receive a 2024 Worlds t-shirt for their avatar.

In addition, Pokémon GO Trainers can channel the fighting spirit of Worlds participants in Pokémon GO Battle Week, which is hosted by August 16, 2024, 10:00 a.m. to August 24, 2024, 8:00 p.m. local timeAs part of the celebrations, Pikachu will make its Pokémon GO debut at the 2024 World Championships, and Pokémon competitive in the GO Battle League Great League will appear more frequently in the wild, including Mankey, Lickitung, Marill, Paldean Wooper, Skarmory, Swablu, Fletchling, Carbink, Grubbin, and Mareanie.

Trainers looking to build a strong, competitive team should look out for event bonuses, including up to five Special Trades per day and the ability to use a Charged TM to help their Shadow Pokémon forget about Charged Attack frustration. This last bonus is rare, so be sure to stock up on Charged TMs to take advantage of this window of opportunity.

During the event, certain Pokémon you encounter or evolve will have special attacks.

• Lickitung knows the Charged Attack Body Slam.

• Mienfoo knows the charged attack “High Jump Kick”.

• Evolve Wooper during the event to receive a Quagsire that knows the charged attack Aqua Tail.

• Evolve Swablu during the event to receive an Altaria that knows the charged attack Moonblast.

• Evolve Grubbin during the event to receive a Charjabug that knows the Charged Attack Volt Switch.

• Evolve Fletchinder during the event to receive a Talonflame that knows the quick attack “Incinerate.”

The 2024 Pokémon World Championships celebration in Pokémon GO offers plenty of opportunities to research. Complete Field Research tasks to receive encounters with Pikachu, Swablu, Mienfoo, and Mareanie from the 2024 World Championships. • 4× Stardust from winning rewards. (Rewards at the end of a set are excluded.)

• The maximum number of sets you can play per day will be increased from five to 20 (for a total of 100 battles).
