FC Barcelona will face Athletic Bilbao at Montjuic later today, but they have not yet registered Dani Olmo for La Liga. Although they have been quite active in terms of departures this week, they have not achieved enough.

Last night, Fabrizio Romano announced that Clement Lenglet will join Atletico Madrid on loan. This should really help the club with their signings, as the Frenchman is one of FC Barcelona’s top earners.

Another departure the club is planning is that of Vitor Roque. According to reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the 19-year-old Barcelona striker is close to a loan move to Real Betis, but the details have yet to be announced.

Roque has only been at Barcelona for around six months and has already fallen out of favour under two managers – Xavi Hernandez and Hansi Flick – and will now leave the club in search of regular playing time.

The departure of Marc Guiu this summer was supposed to give Roque the chance to step in as Robert Lewandowski’s replacement this season, but instead Pau Victor emerged from nowhere and took his place in the first team.

It’s a shame that Roque’s career hasn’t panned out as expected, as he’s one of Brazil’s brightest talents. However, he’s still a teenager and a loan to Real Betis in the Spanish top flight would do him a world of good.

Who knows, if Roque settles in Spain and impresses for Manuel Pellegrini’s team, he may still have a future at FC Barcelona. After all, Robert Lewandowski is getting older and the Brazilian striker could work as a striker for the club in the future.
