18-year-old arrested after fatal stabbing in Plant City: HCSO

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred early Friday morning in Plant City.

Officials said officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the 5800 block of Bob Smith Avenue just before 1 a.m. They found a victim with serious injuries to his upper body, according to HCSO.

As investigators learned, the stabbing occurred after a verbal argument escalated.

The victim was taken to the hospital, where he later died, according to authorities.

According to investigators, 18-year-old Roelmer Fabrisio was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and possession of a weapon.

“No dispute, no matter how violent, should ever result in the loss of life. Violence is not and never will be accepted in our county,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “We are committed to ensuring the safety of all residents and we will hold those who use violence accountable.”

The sheriff’s office said it would wait to release the victim’s name until next of kin had been notified.

The investigation is ongoing.
