1 – Quincy Wilson

2 – Vernon Norwood

3 – Bryce Deadmon

Wilson struggled on the first leg, managing a 47.30 to finish seventh. Norwood ran a heroic 43.60 to close the gap and handed over to Deadmon. Deamond finished the first corner in fourth and held that position with a 44.20. Chris Bailey began the final leg in fourth place and as he came around the final corner he spun Japan away and brought Team USA across the finish line in third place.

Botswana won the first heat in 2:57.76. Men’s 200m gold medalist Letsile Tebogo joined Botswana’s team late and helped the team take a big lead with a strong first leg in 44.40. It was Tebogo’s sixth consecutive day of competition.
