Police in Los Angeles are searching for a teenage mother and her newborn daughter who have been missing since Sunday.

In a press release issued Monday, August 26, family members and the Los Angeles Police Department asked for the public’s help in locating 14-year-old Amoria Brown and her three-week-old daughter, Omoria Brown, who suffers from heart disease and “requires daily medication.”

The two were last seen on August 25 around 10 p.m. in East Los Angeles along with Amoria’s 15-year-old sister-in-law Sanaii Brown and were probably on their way to the “high desert with the family,” according to the press release.

Since the release, Sanaii has been reunited with her relatives, according to her family, according to NBC News.

The press release also included photos of the mother and newborn, as well as a description of Amoria: She is 5’4″ tall, has black hair and brown eyes, and weighs about 135 pounds.

“She was wearing a colorful shirt, gray shorts and gray sandals at the time of her disappearance,” the press release said.

“It’s just a lot right now; I’m trying to process it all,” Amoria’s guardian Raquel Brown said, according to NBC News. “I just want the baby to be OK. She’s not a bad mother. I’m not going to say she’s bad. She’s young. I can’t expect her to change overnight, so I want to make that clear, but I’m here to help.”

According to Raquel, Amoria called her family to let them know that she and the baby were fine, but her whereabouts remained unknown.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911, Detective J. Rider at (213) 479-2827 or LA Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
