Starfield lets you take control of massive spaceships to cruise the cosmos and blast enemy spacers to smithereens. It also has a pretty nifty, powerful shipbuilding feature, so you can create your own ship designs or, if you’re feeling fancy, recreate some of science fiction’s most iconic vessels.
Here we’ve rounded up 14 of the coolest spaceships fans have recreated so far, including ships from Battlestar Galactica, Star Wars, and that damn Joss Whedon show with the undying fanbase.

Starfield’s shipbuilder tends to lean more towards blocky designs, making it a little harder to recreate ships with smoother curves. But that didn’t stop VRboi69420 from creating a solid Galactica build based on the 2003 Battlestar Galactica remake. At least you don’t have to worry about the damn Cylons invading here.
Firefly’s Serenity
Ni Hao! Sorry, but there’s never going to be a damn second season of Firefly, and that one somewhat good-looking video game adaptation that taped the show’s cast’s dialogue will probably never get made (watch Rebel Galaxy Outlaw instead). But Firefly fans must keep flying. Reddit user neok182 has created a very faithful homage to the ill-fated space western with a Serenity build. Here’s hoping they mean to misbehave.
Star Wars Consular-class space cruiser
DaMightyMilkman has put together his own remarkably faithful recreation of a classic Star Wars ship: a Consular-class cruiser. These first appeared in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.
The Mermaid – Captain (Brother and his friends)
Okay, so technically this isn’t science fiction, but it still looks pretty cool. Although you can’t recruit Baloo or any other furry friends in Starfield, Reddit user okamishojo did the next best thing: He recreated the “Sea Duck” ship from the series in Starfield and aptly renamed it “Space Duck.”
Halo’s UNSC Pelican
You’ll certainly need a gun in Starfield, but if you also need a pelican, check out SteamingHotDataDump’s pelican picture guide on Reddit. Just keep it away from particularly nasty parasitic lifeforms while you’re out there.
The USS Enterprise from Star Trek
SP7R put together a great tutorial video explaining how to build your own USS Enterprise in Starfield. What they can’t help you with are cases of extra-dimensional beings showing up just to ruin your day.
The Mandalorian’s Razor Crest
While the Mantis might be one of the best bounty hunter ships in Starfield, AlanaSP has built an excellent remake of this hunting-ready Star Wars ship, fit for traversing a completely different galaxy.
UCS Voyager from Star Trek
GrungeCowboy73’s recreation of the Voyager main ship comes from perhaps my second favorite Star Trek series and seems like the perfect place to begin a woman’s sex change.
Rocinante from The Expanse
Reddit user Lexafer has created a pretty snazzy-looking version of The Expanse’s Rocinante as envisioned in the TV adaptation of the novels. And whether you identify as an Earthling, Belter, or from somewhere else, at least you won’t have to steal this version from the Martian Marines.
Ebon Hawk from Knights of the Old Republic
While the KotOR remake hangs in the balance, why not consider building your own Ebon Hawk here in Starfield? Reddit user Scary_Xenomorph has created a fitting homage to the legendary sci-fi RPG with his take on the classic ship.
The Klingon bird of prey from Star Trek
Qapla`! GrungeCowBoy73 also created a bird of prey from Star Trek, perfect for those moments before a dogfight when you just have to shout that today is actually a good day to die.
Viper Mark III from Battlestar Galactica
Perfect for roleplaying a solo daredevil, DoomWZ’s Viper Mark III is a real looker. Hopefully it doesn’t throw you into any weird, series-breaking plot twists.
Cowboy Bebop’s Swordfish II
YouTuber chatsubo_dude has put together a solid take on the Swordfish II, Spike Spiegel’s red spaceship from Cowboy Bebop. I built it using their instructions — though I named mine “Swordfish I” since it’s not quite finished — and can safely say that this has become the best ship I own. It’s fast, lightweight, has lots of health and shields, and can dish out serious damage with quite a bit of cargo. It’s a great ship that’s gotten even better with chatsubo_dude’s upgraded model, so remember the first rule of combat: shoot them before they shoot you. See you, Space Cowboy. — Levi Winslow
The Millennium Falcon from Star Wars
I’m not sure how many parsecs this thing can travel, but Krunkstep77 has made a few attempts at recreating the iconic Star Wars ship and the results are pretty cool.
And that was our roundup of classic sci-fi ship builds in Starfield. Have you seen any other cool ones or, better yet, built some yourself?
