ADELANTO, California (VVNG.com) — A 13-year-old and his parents were summonsed after the teen was caught in a stolen car, officials said.

On Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 6:16 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call near Bellflower Street and Lee Avenue in Adelanto.

According to the caller, his vehicle was stolen from his residence at 18100 Bellflower Street and he believed the vehicle was still in the area.

Deputies R. Sanchez and J. Villasenor found the vehicle with a 13-year-old male juvenile in the driver’s seat.

Sheriff’s officials said the juvenile was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property.

“He was released into the custody of his mother. His mother received a summons for parental responsibility. Both the juvenile and the parent must appear in court,” officials said.
