Leasure’s teammate, 14 years old Kai Joyneralso set two new age-group state records, winning all of his events. Joyner’s first record came as the leadoff man for Rochester’s 800 freestyle relay with a time of 1:54.43, beating his own record of 1:54.78 set earlier in the year. He then broke the record in the 100 backstroke as the leadoff man for the 400 medley relay with a time of 58.69, beating a nine-year-old record.

Leasure and Joyner helped the Rochester Swim Club win the men’s competition with a total score of 1250, beating second-place Aquajets with 1168 points.

In the women’s category, the Riptide Swim Team took home the trophy with 1165 points. Riptides Alyce Gaffke and Aquajets’ Claire Wilkey were some of the outstanding individual achievements.

Wilkey, 14, set new personal bests in her sprint freestyle races, winning the 50 freestyle in 26.58 and the 100 freestyle in 58.48. Although she was about a second off her summer best, she won the 100 backstroke in 1:05.32. Wilkey also helped the Aquajets win every relay in the girls 13-14 age group.

In the 11-12 category, Gaffke showed her versatility by winning 6 races. The 12-year-old Riptide swimmer particularly shone in the distance races, taking wins and personal bests in the 1500 m freestyle (18:31.90) and 400 m freestyle (4:43.58).

One week after cracking Regan Smith‘S 13-14 100 butterfly national record, Aquajets swimmer Siggy Nymo With a time of 1:01.11 she again achieved a fast time, but could not repeat her time of 1:00.41 from July.
