A cyclist was hospitalized following a collision between a bicycle and a car in Sacramento on Wednesday afternoon, August 7, 2024.
According to Sacramento police, the collision was reported around 3:45 p.m. in the Old North Sacramento area along the 2300 block of Boxwood Street.
The circumstances surrounding the bicycle crash are still unclear, including the make and model of the vehicle involved and how the accident ultimately occurred. It is also not immediately known whether the driver remained at the scene to cooperate with investigators.
The cyclist, whose name, age and gender were not disclosed, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. According to recent police reports, the condition of the victim, who was initially in critical condition, has now stabilized.
The road near Boxwood Street and Calvados Avenue was temporarily closed while police investigate.
